|2010 Festival Details|
The Friday Night Gala Evening is primarily about screening the finalists and announcing the winners. This is our 5th year and it'll be bigger and grander than ever.
On the night we'll be awarding the following prizes; Best Student Film'; Best Independent/Production House Film and Directors' Choice Award.
We also have two other great prizes From both JVC and Panavision to present.
The JVC Prize is a JVC GY-HM100E HD Camcorder worth over $6,000 and the Panavision prize includes camera and equipment hire for a couple of days and a great insurance deal for all you budding film makers.
On the night we'll see plenty of great shorts and get to meet one of the judges and the illustrious Lisa Cahill, the creator of our great trophies for this year.
Food and drink will be available, along with your chance to have a good chat to our guests and judges.
So, come along and have a great night out with all your friends.
Over the weekend we'll be screening all of our entries in a veritable mixing pot of genres and themes. Each session will run for approximately 1 hour and you get to vote for your favourite short film at the end of the session. The winning film from each session goes into the final night's session - the Audience Bites Back. There'll be more than 8 sessions over the weekend as well as the 'Audience Bites Back'. So, there's bound to be something that takes your fancy.
The winners from each session go into this final Sunday Night session. All these winners are screened and a bevy of Newtown and Erkineville lumiaries will honour us with their presence and pick the winner. The winner will recieve a personalised Newtown Flicks/Crumpler Bag and a video microphone Courtesy of Pete's Musician's Market in Newtown for their troubles.
