Important Announcement!

Newtown Flicks is excited to announce that, after many years of hosting/curating one

of Australia’s premier indie short film festivals, we are moving into the film production arena.

After viewing and screening many hundreds of Australian short films as part of our festivals

we are convinced that our organisation has a truly visceral contribution to make to the

Australian film industry.

Our mentors and supports such as Bruce Beresford, Genevieve Lemon and Mark Lee

are all passionate supporters of our ‘home grown’ industry and more than enthusiastic

about our efforts to date.

Thus, we feel that we have ‘paid our dues’ and can now help to produce truly

authentic Australian stories through film.

We hope you will join us on this journey and will support our productions

whenever you can.
